Brilliant Local Shops

Ventnor town centre with an array of shopws, restaurants is a lovely 10 minute walk from Clarence House, up Park Avenue and along Belgrave Road with its wonderful views down to the bay.

The local Co-op (location) is a decent supermarket with long opening hours (Monday to Saturday: 7am to 10pm and Sunday: 10am to 4pm) and we also have a small Tescos, both with parking (opposite or behind), but we also have some great independent food shops in Ventnor.

Don't just do a big supermarket shop before you arrive - why not support the local artisans and try some really good quality produce!

Among our favourites are:

Ventnor Butchers

A superb butcher and delicatessen - don't miss the amazing pork pies, homemade sausages and excellent bacon.

Paul will be able to tell you in detail where all his meat is sourced from.  Open 0730 to 1300 only Tuesday - Saturday.

Location

London House

This stylish little bakery makes great bread, huge scones and delicious cakes.  Plus now with a cafe alongside for delicious lunch.

Location

Ingrams Yard Market

Great new initiative in 2024 - More of a street food place than for groceries, but well worth a visit with more details on the weekly traders here.

Location

Harvey Browns

Not very local, but Harvey Browns is "one farm shop to rule them all" so worth a mention!

Don't expect any bargains, but you can find top quality produce at this fabulous farm shop, which showcases much of what the Isle of Wight has to offer.
