As a small independent accommodation provider, we are not able to refund guests who cancel or who wish to postpone at short notice (i.e. less than 6 weeks, before which bookings are 100% refundable).  It is very hard to replace the booking and, since we are often fully booked, such a cancellation means we lose that revenue permanently.

We therefore recommend taking out insurance to cover any such contingency, which is actually very cheap for UK travel if you don't have an annual policy. This company for example gave us a quote for 7 day UK summer holiday for a family of 3 for under £12.

If you do need to cancel and are uninsured, we will of course do our best to mitigate your loss, offsetting any fees from replacement bookings or cleaning charges.  Ferry crossings you have booked through us are fully refundable.
